Code of conduct at the convention

A few rules to abide by while attending the convention

Please keep in mind that these rules apply throughout the convention, including early arrival and late departure day(s).

Most Importantly

These rules will not be debated during the convention. The Head of Security or a senior team member will, however, be available for you in case you feel you have been incorrectly or wrongly been accused of violating any of the rules. Decisions by the Head of Security, a senior team member or Hotel Management are final.

Registration and Badges

  • You must have purchased either an adult or child ticket to attend the convention, children should be supervised at all times.
  • You are required to wear your badge and wristband prominently at all times, so that you can be identified and recognized as a member of the convention.
  • Changing or covering up any information on your badge (i.e. by using stickers or drawings) is forbidden.

General Behaviour

  • Treat others respectfully.
  • Please do not sit on the floor.
  • Be respectful of other hotel patrons who are not attending the convention.
  • You are liable for any damage you might cause to property howsoever caused.

Clothing and Decency

  • Display of any sign, symbol or clothing that is commonly associated with any organization, party or political ideology likely to offend other guests is not permitted.
  • Display of adult-themed materials is not permitted in public areas of the hotel. This includes (but is not limited to): room signs, flyers, business cards, posters and drawings on public message boards.

Alcohol and Drugs

  • You must be 18 years or over and are expected to drink responsibly. You will be held liable for what you say and what you do, even if intoxicated. Alcohol purchased from outside the hotel must not be consumed within hotel bars, restaurants or convention rooms.
  • Persons who are intoxicated to the point of incapacity may be escorted to their rooms or expelled from both the convention and the venue.
  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere within the entire hotel building except designated smoking bedrooms. A cleaning fee of £150.00 will be charged for smoking in a non-smoking room. The only permitted smoking areas are outside the hotel building, in the designated smoking areas.
  • The possession, consumption or sale of illegal substances will not be tolerated. Attendees found in possession of such substances will be indefinitely banned from the convention.

Weapons, replicas, staged fighting and dangerous Items

  • Weapons are not permitted. Replica’s may be brought in for photo studio and cosplay however they must be checked by Head of Security or a senior team member before being worn in public.
  • Mock fights, swordplay or any other activities that may adversely affect bystanders or hotel property are not allowed without explicit permission from the Head of Security, who will appoint a staff member to take precautions and to observe the activity.

Photography and Videotaping

  • Rogue Events reserves all rights to video and photo material gathered at the convention with the exception of footage from private rooms.
  • Rogue Events grants you the right to use videos and photos you have taken at the convention for private and/or non-commercial purposes.
  • Publication in for-profit media (such as press, television or other commercial mass media) requires written permission by the Board of Directors.
  • Official camera teams may record video and take photos in the public areas of the convention and during events to be used in various publications, such as the convention’s official (or otherwise endorsed) highlight videos. You agree that videos and pictures taken of you can be used in such publications without release or compensation. A release will only be required for material filmed in situations where a reasonable expectation of privacy exists.
  • Other restrictions or rules may apply for certain events, and will be announced on location.

General Hotel Rules

  • It is strictly forbidden to throw, drop or push any objects out of windows, from balconies, galleries or similar parts of the building. Violators will be expelled from the convention.
  • Attendees may not enter the service areas of the hotel. This includes all backstage areas, service elevators, the rooftops, emergency exits and all areas marked as “Staff Only”.
  • In order to ensure a safe environment please queue in an orderly manner maintaining access to public walkways at all times.  Tampering with any fire-protection devices – in particular, disabling smoke-detectors or malicious triggering of fire doors or alarms – is illegal, therefore prohibited and will result in expulsion from the event and venue.  You will be held liable for any damages or associated costs.
  • Do not deliberately crack open glow-sticks or similar items containing dyes, sticky, or corrosive material.
  • The sale of any kind of merchandise outside the official trader’s room is not permitted.

Hotel Rooms and Privacy

  • You are expected to treat the hotel rooms and property of the hotel reasonably and with care. You will be held personally liable for any damage you may cause.
  • It is strictly prohibited to allow non-residential attendees to sleep in your hotel room. Violators may be expelled and held liable for compensation claims of the venue.   Additional amenities requested for hotel bedrooms may be charged.
  • The housekeeping team are required to check your room at least once a day. “Do Not Disturb” signs will therefore only be respected until 11:00 am.  Please note rooms will not be cleaned after 3pm.
  • Leaving a tip instead of a mess would certainly be held in a much higher regard.
  • You must not disturb people in any other hotel rooms. Please keep the noise down after midnight. If you are asked to reduce noise more than twice you may be required to stop what you are doing and may be asked to vacate the premises.
